Nerja is situated between the sea and the mountains of Sierra de Almijara, in the Eastern part of the Axarquía of Malaga.

Welcome to Nerja This town has many places of interest, and has become one of the most important tourist centres on the Costa del Sol. The physiognomy of its historic centre still keeps the charming attraction of an Andalusian village, characterized by the hospitality of its inhabitants.

The mild climate and its privileged situation on the coast invite you to enjoy your stay during the whole year. It’s streets, quarters and beaches offer unique and incomparable experiences, always accompanied by a hospitable atmosphere which leads us to a place with a Moorish past.

Balcon de Europa One of the most impressive spots is the vantage point of the Balcón de Europa, on the cliffs that separate the two beaches El Salón and Calahonda. It was built on the foundations of an old Muslim fortress called Castillo Bajo, that was destroyed by the English during the War of Independence.

Cuevas de Nerja (Nerja Caves) Apart from this, Nerja offers unforgettable places like the caves Cueva de Nerja, one of the most popular and spectacular caves in Spain, and the most important one from the archaeological point of view; the Maro cliffs, nowadays a nature reserve; and in the centre of the town, the Balcón de Europa and the church Iglesia del Salvador.
